Proponents of the impeachment motion now want President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo barred from travelling abroad until his fate is determined in Parliament.
The MPs met in the capital Mogadishu on Tuesday amid ay heightened political tension inthe country following Sunday’s filing of an impeachment motion seeking to fire President Farmaajo.According to MP Mahad Salad MPs are demanding that the President should not sign any agreement or travel while the motion is ongoing.
President Farmaajo faces serious allegations including treason. With parliament tabling a no-confidence vote against him, he appears to have run out time.
