A family in Bomet has been thrown into mourning following the untimely death of their 26-year-old Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier son in Somalia.
Josphat Korir was among the KDF soldiers killed in an intense battle with al-Shabaab militants who are still terrorising the Horn of Africa country.
In the Sunday, November 20, incident, the Islamic jihadist group ambushed the soldiers’ camp leading to a fire exchange.
The KDF lost several officers while other injured soldiers were evacuated to Defence Forces Memorial Hospital Nairobi for further medical attention.
